Introducing SnipAlt

SnipAlt started with a workflow we kept watching marketing professionals suffer through. To add alt text to a batch of images, you'd upload them to a separate generator, wait, copy the results, switch back to your scheduler, and paste each description into each photo — trusting that the order in tab two still matched the order in tab one.

It often didn't. Upload queues reorder. A photo gets swapped at the last minute. And then the description of a latte ships on a photo of a bar chart, in public, with your brand's name on it. We started calling it the bulk-upload shuffle.

Describe the image where it already is

SnipAlt is a tiny desktop tool with one move: press the hotkey, your screen freezes like a screenshot, you drag a box around the image — right inside your scheduler, CMS, or feed — and publish-ready alt text lands on your clipboard. The image and its description are never apart, so they can never mismatch. One snip, one paste, next.

Written like an editor, not a captioner

Generic captioners say "a man at a table." SnipAlt follows a house style built from accessibility practice: lead with the subject, never start with "image of," quote visible text verbatim, give charts their takeaway instead of their furniture, and stay inside the 125 characters screen readers respect. Three tones — concise, descriptive, SEO — are one click apart, and every result is editable before you copy.
